Sponsored Story for VRilliant

#tldr - VRilliant Studios offers one of the most well-rounded collections of great VR arcade games. Each game attracts a different audience, which is how to grow your revenue and profit. They’re available on all major platforms - BC

Whenever I talk to VR arcade operators, I always ask them, “Who’s your target audience?” And the most popular answer I get is “everyone!”

Normally, I advise business owners to focus on a narrow market. You need to know your market so you can speak their language and market to them in a way that resonates. But the cold reality of running a VR arcade is this:

You need to tap into multiple audience segments to fill the different dayparts and drive enough traffic to run a profitable business.

The good news is that it’s possible. And there’s an existing model Hollywood has used for decades that we can adopt and, with some modifications, create content libraries that appeal to everyone.

What Makes a Hollywood Blockbuster?

Think about a massive, billion-dollar Hollywood blockbuster. Those movies don’t just accidentally make a billion dollars; they are engineered using the Four-Quadrant Movie Model. They have something for men and women, under and over 25 years old. Most movies hit more than one of these quadrants, but when you have a movie hit all of them, the box office explodes. James Cameron is the master of the Four Quadrant film, which is why he dominates the top of the all-time box office rankings. Titanic, Avatar, and even his older movies like True Lies, The Abyss, and Terminator all have great action wrapped around a love story.

The Four Quadrant Model VR Arcade Model

For a VR arcade to be really profitable, it has to Pack the Gaps, as Blaise Whitnish from FunLab taught us in this webinar. Packing the gaps is about filling those off-peak hours, like Tuesday afternoon, when people aren’t coming out for entertainment. Finding the audiences that can fill the gaps requires targeted marketing, but also the right content.

Based on talking to hundreds of operators, here’s my take on the Four Quadrants for VR Arcades. They’re Birthday Parties, Adult Social and Corporate, Active Gamers, and Silver Tech. That last one might seem weird, but stay with me, it’s important and growing rapidly.

The VRilliant Four-Quadrant Playbook: Games That Pack the Gaps

VRilliant Studios is a leading name in the world of VR arcade games. They are recognized as one of the world’s leading developers that are shaping the future of immersive LBE.

Their content library is featured across all major distribution channels and platforms, so it’s available to thousands of arcades worldwide. They might be in more arcades than any other game developer in the world.

VRilliant has a strong presence on PCVR platforms such as Arvi, Synthesis, Springboard, Spawnpoint, Octopod, and Delusion, as well as Ubisoft. More recently, they’ve started porting their games to standalone headsets exclusively on HeroZone. This allows them to serve a wide range of arcade operators and players. It also enables them to maximize exposure and offer flexible deployment options for venues of all sizes.

VRilliant has done a great job building games that nail all the quadrants. Here is exactly what a true four-quadrant strategy looks like in practice, using the VRilliant catalog:

THE 'BIRTHDAY PARTY' BRACKET (Ages 10–14)

When you have a dozen screaming kids in your lobby, you don't have time for a 10-minute tutorial. You need frictionless onboarding. Plush Rush is pure, vibrant, family-friendly action with an incredibly fast learning curve. The wave-based gameplay ensures high throughput during peak periods, and the 1-to-8 player mechanics encourage teamwork. It maximizes your throughput, minimizes staff headaches, and guarantees the kids leave laughing—which leads to other parents booking their kids’ parties at your venue.

THE 'ACTIVE GAMER' BRACKET (Ages 15–34)

You can't fool this crowd; they have VR headsets and consoles at home and demand premium, high-fidelity experiences if they are going to pay for location-based play. Rotten Apple is VRilliant’s flagship narrative VR shooter set in a cinematic, post-apocalyptic New York overrun by zombies. Featuring both a rich Story Mode and a grueling Endless Mode, it delivers the pulse-pounding, high-intensity survival action that competitive gamers crave. The opening scene with the guard dog, when the gate opens to the quarantine zone, is one I still talk about years after the experience.

THE 'ADULT SOCIAL & CORPORATE' BRACKET (Ages 25–54)

I combined two different use cases into this one quadrant because the demographics are the same, and the experiences they’re seeking have the same hallmarks. You might have heard the term “Competitive Socialization.” This is where the high-margin corporate dollars live.

Star Force perfectly fuses high-octane cooperative shooting with deep environmental puzzles. Success depends on strong communication and team coordination under fire, not just twitch reflexes. It’s a premium, highly marketable team-building and competitive social experience

THE 'SILVER TECH' BRACKET (Ages 55+)

How do you monetize your venue at 10:00 AM on a Tuesday? You program for the Silver Tech quadrant. The emerging genre of cultural exploration content is drawing the senior set to experiences like Horizons of Khufu, Titanic, and the International Space Station. VRilliant’s Atlantis, an experience that takes players into the rich, ancient, underwater world, could be a perfect target for older demographics. By emphasizing exploration, culture, and mythology while providing cognitive stimulation, Atlantis, when positioned properly, is the perfect hook for morning cultural groups or senior living communities seeking accessible, mind-expanding entertainment.

It’s Time to Strategically Expand Your Content

Randomly offering dozens of games to “everyone” isn’t a strategy. If you’re not making as much profit as you’d like in your VR arcade, it’s time to take a strategic approach to your content offerings. VRilliant offers one of the easiest ways to expand your market, bring in new customers, and strategically grow your business. Odds are their games are already available on your arcade platform. The question is, are you using them to pack the gaps?

Download them today on Synthesis, Springboard, Spawnpoint, Ubisoft, ARVI, Octopod, and Delusion.
