Immersion meets Redemption

Three years ago, I wrote about Inowize, a company that had been working in the VR space for years, which was unveiling a new immersive gaming room at IAAPA called QBIX. I told you it was going to define a whole new segment of immersive entertainment for FECs.

Six players scrambling around in only 169 square feet, with wind, vibration, surround sound, and 270 degrees of video immersion. And no headsets. It was like nothing anyone had ever built.

Like all new things, operators were skeptical. They only had three games ready for the show. Would there be more? Could it really be unattended? Would it be durable? Would people really like it?

Well, those questions have all been answered. QBIX has nine different games that are now thrilling guests on five continents, from Japan to South Africa, New Zealand to France. No employees needed.

Here’s the latest game they’re unveiling at IAAPA; they’ve really worked on the gameplay mechanics to drive active, shoulder-to-shoulder play that you cannot get in an arcade cabinet or virtual reality.

Operators are consistently getting their investment back in 6-12 months. And this year at IAAPA, Inowize is willing to guarantee it with an offer that I’ve never seen before. I love it when someone is willing to put their money where their mouth is.

Having developed what is now definitely a successful product, most companies would call it a day and milk the cow. Sell as many as they can, and move on to the next product development cycle. You know what I mean, right? We see it all the time.

But how do you improve the best compact, immersive, multiplayer gaming system?

How about adding redemption? Now, beyond the reward of great immersive social gameplay, players can earn tickets for prizes that drive even more memories and replays.

You owe it to yourself and your customers to give QBIX a thorough evaluation. The best way to do that is to schedule time with them in advance so you don’t waste time standing in what I promise will be a massive queue. Last year, I went by four times and could never get in to play. You can book a meeting at this link.

I’ve spent time with Claudia, Ovi, Stefan, and Gabriela. They invited Kylie and me to a big family gathering in Romania, where we spent the entire day and night roasting a pig, drinking, laughing, and making new friends. They’re good people who are totally dedicated to making great products for their customers.

Tell them Bob sent you (no, I don’t get a commission—just appreciation and maybe an invite to another pig roast).
